Sadly I heard the news yesterday that comedian Richard Jeni died from an apparent suicide. He was the sar of UPN's short-lived sitcom, Platypus Man, and several standup comedy shows. I counted him as one of my favorite performers.

I remember him mostly from Jim Carey's The Mask. He was the woman- chasing best friend.

He will be missed.

I think I'm the only person who both saw and enjoyed Platypus Man.

I met him while I was on my honeymoon with my first wife. We spent about an hour hanging out after his show. He was a great guy. It is a sad day.
