I spoke to Gren over the weeknd and prompted by style's "wish" on the What I Want thread I'd thought I'd put up a little update on what's going on with him.
As you may know, Grendal_71 is an active duty Marine and when he took his FR hiatus had just gotten a promotion, a new posting and moved with his family to Le Jeune. He's been crazy busy getting a handle on his new job, but things are beginning to settle down a bit. He's due to head out in about 6 months, but he has no idea where he'll be going. While it's possible he could be heading to Iraq or Afghanistan, it's just as likely that he'll wind up on extended maneuvers somewhere.
Between the job abd getting his new home squared away he hasn't been able to do any writing, but he hopes to be back at it soon. He was upset to hear about our last outtage and subsequent removal of the archives. In all other regards he and his family are doing well.
And his greatest fear is that his buddies in the Marines will find out that he read comics, writes sci-fi and subscribes to Gourmet magazine. So don't tell anyone, OK? ;)
Good to hear he's doing all right. Hope things settle down soon!
Yeah, Gren is one of the nicest fellas i met on these boards, a real top bloke. I hope he is safe and can find some stability soon.

It's good to know that he is okay and not in harm's way. As always, he is missed on the board.

... even if he is a total nerd! (By marine standards at least)
