Not much of a requester but....
I think it would be fantastic if someone could do a character editor similar to Alex's EZ Hero for :ffvstr: so that hero file characters could be sent to a DAT of a specific mod folder along with making additions to the strings file.
Please?
:D
WAY seconded! I'm putting all of my DC characters into FF2 by hand.....and this would be a godsend.
Wayyyyy third this, with the thousands of hero files i keep tweeking and messing with, this would be a godsend
If someone is up to it, I would love to have such a device.
Actually, EZ Hero 1 WILL send characters to .dat in FFvTTR just fine, with only a few minor glitches, which are easy to fix. I've been using it in Issue 2 of LB and it's very easy. I just have to correct anything new that was not in the first game.
EZ Hero 2, by the way, was already 80% or so complete before RL issues forced Alex to stop working on it. If someone get get a hold of it and finish it, there you go.
I have the EZHero2 Beta Alex was working on. I was testing it out the AI Export system he did which allows you to create AI scripts and export it to a file, but this was before M25's new AI system where everything is stored in the m25ai file. I've tried to contact Alex but no luck. I think you'd need the source code to finish it?
It may not do much good since he's still probably very busy but I'm going to email him too about this thread. I'm sure the source code would be a big boon. Could you imagine having FFX, M25 AND EZ Hero in one package? That would be fantastic, especially if we could get alterations to the Strings DAT.
That would be awesome, here's hoping that Alex can send the source code out to someone who can finish it! Cat, how is that you are using EZHero1 to write to the .Dat? Every time I try it to open a hero file with the FF path set on the new game, I get a runtime error.

The HFs that give me that trouble seem to point to Drive E: rather than the default C:
