Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie here, so I'll apologize in advance for any of my ignorance of all things FF. But I was told by the good people at new power inc that I might be able to track down a skin for Ben Edlund's The Tick. But I have as of yet come up short. Detour had the following comments to make about the Mesh: "okay, so i ported him over to a male_heavy mesh, but kept the skin references to generic_HeroB.tga the antennae aren't animated anymore, but he is compatible with all male_heavy keyframes."
Does anyone know where I can find a Tick skin? Or, short of that would anyone be daring enough to create one? I long to see the blue tight's of justice in action!
I do have an additional question, if there is a skin available for this mesh, does anyone have any advice on how this will actually work in the create the custom hero function in FF?

the first thing you'll need to do to use a custom skin is put an appropriatly named folder containing the skin in the "skins" folder of the appropriate mesh folder in your freedom force directory.. hopefully you know where to put custom meshes already, since i can't remember the file path myself. once that is done, go into your game, create a new charecter, and select the mesh you want from the list. a small preview window will show the mesh on the right hand side of the screen. at the bottom of the window will be a pair of arrows, looking roughly like this: << (mesh name) >> if the mesh has more than one valid skin folder, the arrows will be yellow. click on them to scroll through your various skin options. then design your powers and such, and click save, your done! ((every screen of the charecter creation process has the mesh preview window, so you can change your skin at any time while editing your charecter.))

That does help. But, I'm still needing the Tick skin. Has no one produced such a skin so far? And if not, would anyone else be willing??? Surely, the great blue avenger is worthy of such rendering.

as a side note, generic_heroB.tga is the exact same as male_basic, so any other skin would work for him too, if you rename it.

Speaking of silly cartoon heroes. Does a "The Mask" skin/mesh exist as well?

Ari, you might have more luck starting your own topic in your search for the mask. I'm afraid I can't answer that.
Gni did a great Mask skin/mesh ... can't remember his website's url though.
