Hello there, everyone; it's been a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally long time since I've last been around here, and I don't know if anyone else remembers me, but I've been working on something that I figured you all might appreciate. Actually, it's kind of not just me. See, over at tvtropes.org, me and some other posters started working on a project where the Marvel and DC universes were merged into one, and it's come far enough along that we've started writing stories for it. My main work is a series called 'The Golden Age', which focuses on the titular Golden Age (early-mid 40's,) of this new merged universe. Now, while I'm respecting the original era, as well as a number of modern comics that have involved it, it doesn't have much, if anything, to do with the other series' in this merged verse, and it is still a new universe of a sort, so with all of that in mind, I feel I can take a few artistic liberties here and there; nothing too major though. Overall, it's a series where (most) heroes are heroes, but still human, (or not, in a few cases; technically speaking,) in a world that's caught in the midst of a great war. (WWII) And in the shadows, one being that's as old as the human race itself is just waiting to make it's move. (AKA, a certain immortal caveman, for you comic aficionados. ;)) I'm also planning on including Public Domain characters when appropriate, because some of them are pretty interesting, but the Marvel&DC characters still take higher priority.

This is actually something that started as a JSA story, and actually began it's life here, right here on FR. It was supposed to be a FFvs3R mod, but I couldn't mod to save my life, so that fell through really darn quickly. Now, with several years more experience under my belt and with a (much) larger cast, and choosing to just write it as a Script as opposed to making a videogame mod, and with it even being the starting point for a whole universe that will hopefully be full of other series and stories to come, I think it's become bigger then I ever hoped it to be. (In a good way.) And so, without further adieu, feel free to head on over to http://archiveofourown.org/works/1089779/chapters/2193203 (no log-in or account required,) and check it out. You might be surprised. :)

Just an FYI; the series now only updates on Sundays, but with longer Chapters. (This Sunday was still a previously normal-sized Chapter though.) All prior Chapters have also been checked&cleaned for typos and errors; the longer spaces between Chapters should help make sure that future chapters are cleaner from the get-go. The series  is still located at http://archiveofourown.org/works/1089779/chapters/2193203. So far, there have been no comments on the site where the series is located, but feel free to tell me what you think, and again, enjoy. :)

Well hello, Kk! I wish I had time to read through any time soon, but I would certainly like to welcome you back to the board.

Thanks; I was beginning to think no-one remembered me. ;) As for reading it through; don't worry about it. There's no need to marathon, if that's a problem. And of course, if you can read it, that's fine, but if you can't, well, that's understandable; real life's more important.

You know, coming back here also reminded me of  :ff: (And why wouldn't it?) I've bought both games from Steam, and plan to go through them again soon. Maybe also go through The Strangers. Part of it is also because I've been writing this series, which has got me itching to play this sort of game again. :) (And as far as I know, there's no other game quite like Freedom Force or it's sequel, so...)

Thanks. :) Also, this is part of a larger project, so there will be other works by other authors in time; about the only other thing up right now though is a short prologue to a Spider-man series, by 'Red M.' 'Atomic James' is working on a spy story that's kinda-sorta linked to The Golden Age, and 'VampireBhudda' is working on both a Superman/Fantastic Four origin story, as well as a Batman Beyond/Spiderman duo series. (They'll be separate series at first, but will eventually merge.) So yeah, we've got plans. ;)

Also, The Golden no longer updates on Sundays; it really just updates whenever I get the chance to now.
