Looks good but I was hoping it would be like DC Online, where we can create our own heros/villains. Are we going to see multiple Thors, Hulks, etc running around?

Yep, its what I feared. According to this source http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/22/marvel-heroes-is-a-diablo-style-mmo all players can be any hero and even change up characters during fights. So this means we will see 10 Hulks and 5 Ironmans and 7 Thors and you can't fight each other, only villian npcs. It's still pretty earlier but I don't have high hopes for this one.

Unless they do it like every MOBA (League of Legends, Super Monday Night Combat) where in a team there is one of each character only.

This looks XML-ish.  If the execution is alright, and we can avoid the clone problem, I'd be interested.

I'd be interested if this wasn't an MMO.  Sadly it is, so I'm not.

Looks interesting, but as Talavar said, it would be better if it wasn't an MMO. It was nice to see Scarlet Witch in a video game, though. I don't think XMLII counts.. she didn't even have her real costume.

That is a shame... not because "everyone will want to be Wolverine because he is cool" but instead because they will accidentally make one character very powerful and everyone will have that one. For example if Vision has a killer "phase" attack you will see 400 visions running around.

Exactly lugaru. That is what you will undoubtedly see when the game is released. There will be several characters that will become favorites and everyone will be playing as them.

I like what I see so far. There still seems to be some stiffness with the characters but I'm sure that'll be taken care of.

Movie costumes, because you know they were going to include them. What do you guys think? Personally, I only like movie version Iron Man. http://www.marvelheroes.com/news/news-articles/movie-costumes-avengers

I'm not too sure about this one. Looks kinda simple. Maybe it'll surprise me, though.

Did this even need to be an MMO?

Why does this have to me a MMO? I just know there will be some characters that will be discovered to have a uber power and everyone will be running around as them.  It would be totally fine as a single player game. I laughed every time the guy said "this character will be hard to fight alone" and the player easily solos it. Even the Sentinel was a piece of cake to solo. Mags went down super easy, so this tells me either the player was using the easiest difficulty level or the game will have no challenge. Nitpicking, but why does the Hulk grow with rage? Is this Ang Lee's Hulk? I know it is still way to early to criticize, but I'm not liking what I am seeing.

While I, too, would prefer MUA 3, I do recognize the awful online capabilities those games had.

I think with an MMO, the ability to play with others will be the selling point for me. (That and it's totally free!)

I just hope there is a very expansive selection of characters to choose from the start.

Its true playing with others will be fun, but we all know we will see dozens of the same characters running around. This is the part that bothers me.

Would it be better if you created your own hero and then have the Marvel heroes team up with you like in Diablo.

I'm sure we won't be playing with clones of characters... There will probably be shards, or a kind of lobby system where only one version of a character can exist at a time...  Didn't they already fix that issue in super hero squad online?

Which,  and I know they aren't mentioning since it'll turn off the 'core' gamers, did pretty well for Marvel.

"Upon loading the game, I noticed that our party of press demo superheroes consisted of one Iron Man and two Wolverines." This was quoted from  http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/hands-on-with-marvel-heroes/

There will be multiple clones of characters running around without doubt. You can swap out characters right in the middle of a fight. This was already talked about by the designers. The only saving grace is that you can customize them so two Wolverines for example, will not play the same. That, and there will be multiple costumes. I guess we have to role-play a bit, and pretend that the cloned characters are from different dimensions. I guess I can live with that.

Sure, there will be clones, but if you're playing with a group of people, it really shouldn't be a problem.

That is, of course, unless you all want to play as a team of Wolverines, like from that issue from the Exiles. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of multiple costumes for the characters.

Also, I saw Cloak in this game already! I hope he'll be playable and not just a NPC.
