Topic: The South Rising Again

:UPDATED: Howdy folks, I'm putting together a new character based on a concept I've had kicking around for a few years.  Meet the Gray Ghost:

His concept is that he's the ghost of a confederate cavalry officer bound to protect the South.  Think the Specter meets the Haunted Tank.  In game terms, he's got an ego blade and I want him to have some gun attacks.  What I need help with is twofold.  First off, I'm not really happy with his design.  It is REALLY hard to reproduce a Civil War type uniform in this game, so he's looking much more generic cowboy.  As it is, I think this look isn't too bad, but his shirt is just a bit off.  I was going for something like J.E.B. Stewart's uniform, but as you can see, I'm pretty far off:

So, any suggestions that might get closer to the theme?

The second thing I need is advice.  He's got ego blade and gun powers, so what should I focus on for him, stats-wise?

The design is cool...but with the name Gray Ghost...I would stick more to less saturated colours. The belt and boots could be toned down for instance.

Oh i like the costume a lot. I agree with Court, maybe tone down the colors a bit, otherwise i love the costume.

As for stats, haven't played in a while, but ego and gun powers used to have great critical attack potential. So I'd go with dexterity as your main stats (for crit chance), as for the other maybe ego to maximize his dmg potential (for crit dmg).

Thanks guys!  I appreciate the feedback and suggestions.  I hadn't been focusing on dexterity, Bat, so I'll give that more weight now!  Working on y'alls advice, I've got a costume that I like a lot better:

I found something that was much closer to a Confederate cavalry officer's uniform, and that plus the muted colors y'all suggested produced a better result, at least in my opinion.  I've also taken a stab at creating a supergroup uniform for him, which is pretty tough given his color scheme and overall look.  Here's two options, one based on his original look, one on the new costume:



I'm not particularly happy with either.  What do y'all think?

I like number two better... But I would again try faded colours. I know it is suppose to be the team colours, but why the heck not? I think it'd bring the look together a lot more.

I dig him. I was definitely picturing something else from the name Gray Ghost. Actually, I was picturing the Gray Ghost from the DCAU. Ho ho ho. But this character is swell.

Thanks for the thoughts Unko!  C6 helped me put together a better design for the FS costume.  I'll have to post a picture of it later.  I actually meant to name him "Gray Rider," but wrote "Ghost" without thinking about it.  I created him and that was that.  Ha.
