need a hand, or 2
« on: December 16, 2010, 04:39:54 AM »
well, ghostmachine was kind enough to give me a referal code so that i could play some more of the game beyond the tutorial, and so far i'm having a fair bit of fun. however, i've got Lynnaria in the Desert Crisis zone, and i'm gonna need some help punting Ferd so i can get his perk, and the experience from the mission of course. so anyone else working the crisis zones that needs this perk, or would just be willing to give me a hand in getting it? drop me a line either on here or in a PM, or else watch for me in game, handle is @lordelcorion.

You also might want to chat looking for assistance or hang around Ferd and gank him in a group. Then again I'm a big solo guy who only does 1 to 20 minute "team ups" with strangers.

If you hang around the area long enough, other people will show up who also need to take out Ferd. You either form a group or just all jump in and attack him separately. (You'll get credit whether you're grouped or not)

Personally, I prefer the Canadian crisis to the desert one. Is especially recommend it if you're a fan of a certain hit tv show that ended earlier this year. (Won't spoil the surprise)

i actually spent nearly an hour in the area without seeing anyone go through.. but i might have been on at a low traffic period, i'll check again over the weekend. and i've got Phoenix phyre running Canada, i wanted to do one charecter in each zone so that i could compare the experience, and so far, i think i do prefer canada as well, aside from the frost wolves and shamans knocking me out of my flying.. died like four times becuase of fall damage from that.. what the heck is the range they can get with that, i would fly straight up for several seconds and they'd still hit me with it. in the desert, if you don't watch yourself *really* close, i've found you can get swarmed by up to a dozen irradiates all at once.. not to much fun..

and i'm somewhat surprised that mr. griswold from the tutorial doesn't make at least a cameo in canada crisis, given that's where he was going, and i seem to recall the flight number was the same.. though i may have to double check..

Spoiler: ShowHide
was the show Lost? i don't watch tv really at all so i'm probably wrong.

To answer your question in the spoiler tags....yes.

And Mr. Griswold does show up in the game again eventually. In Canada, but a long time after the crisis.

ahh, alright. but i was right about the flight number he gives being the same as the one in the canada crisis. so i guess he managed to get away on his own or hide somewhere till the crisis was over.

ok, so i found a team-up to gank ferd.. and figured out some of the limitations for trial account users in the chat.. i can't send messages over the zone channel, and i can't send a private message to anyone who's not on my friend's list, so i kinda had to just join a team at random that looked to be at the right level and such. and now i'm realizing i should have stayed on the team for the vault, since Gigaton is proving impossible for me to solo with lynnaria. i think i should have taken another attack power rather than my passive slot..

I was on the other night and sent you a couple of messages, but you never answered. Guess you were either busy and didn't see them or was afk.

The Gigaton mission is a pain, which is why I prefer the Canadian Crisis final mission over the Desert one. The shamans can be either a royal pain or a piece of cake depending on your powers, but the Gigaton mission is actually harder, in my opinion. (You can use the helicopter or jet to go switch to the Canadian crisis, if you want)

i probably missed them, was playing with Phoenix phyre and between a bunch of missions and having to sell/research a bunch of items out of my inventory, adding crafting recipies, etc, i was pretty distracted. now, if i take lynn out of desert crisis and go to canada crisis, can i go back later, or can i only fully complete one of the two? i'm curious about this cause i was also wondering if i could send Phoenix phyre over to do the desert crisis, since i have finished canada crisis with her.

No. You can only do one crisis. When you've completed a crisis, you can go to the regular Canada and Desert, not the other crisis. (You can also go to Millennium City afterward)

ehh, i figured as much.. still, given i started lynnaria in desert crisis and i've done all the other missions, i think i'm gonna go ahead and try to find a team-up to finish it out. tonight is being Lag-tastic for me with Phoenix Phyre though.. it's times like that i hate my internet service..

Did they change the crisis thing? Because I usually do both crisises with my characters. You can jump between them when you are in them, see? Then you can defeat Gigaton easier, and instead of clicking the "dig to surface" or whatever, you can actually use the buried door to return to the crisis zone. Then go back and finish up Canada and viola! You've done them both and you're a bit higher level than you would normally be!

Unless they changed it. I know there were making it different. I ought to go back to that game but gosh, I am no good at playing these online games.
