Title: Coming Soon
Post by: JeyNyce on July 11, 2014, 09:57:23 PM
Want to have a topic about stuff coming soon that we may want to add to our collection.  Feel free to add figures, statues or whatever that may be coming out

Lots of the stuff they are announcing looks great.

Def getting Gordon, 2 face and Babs from Capullo line. Would have preferred if they had Damian in there too but what can you do. Zero Year Bats looks cool but don't need another Batman right now.

Heh, Bat was just PMing me about this. I'm definitely considering getting the Arkham Knight Batman and Scarecrow figures, but I'm not ruling out the Flash figure, especially if he's not gonna be in the Justice League movie.

These look fantastic! Won't get them since they're 50$ - 60$ each, it's a bit much, but they do look great.

They do look great, but being only 5.5 inches tall, I can't see why they would cost $50-$60.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on July 14, 2014, 07:02:36 PM
Because they're imports. That and the fact that they undoubtedly come loaded with alternate heads, weapons, and other such goodies.

It's a bit steep (especially when there are already good figures on the market), but the comparable SH Figuarts figures go for hundreds secondhand.

Everything here is 100% correct (pics of alternate heads are in the article).

http://news.toyark.com/2014/07/23/dc-collectibles-sdcc-2014-statues-batman-tas-arkham-flash-arrow-129514 - DCC opening night layout.

A few new surprises here and there... for one thing, it looks like the new Arrow figures won't be short on accessories (yeah some of them are probably just for display, such as the arrow costume case, but I'll be really surprised if we don't get a fair number of the weapons) and there are a few last minute additions as well, like the Merlin figure.

Speaking of new additions, in addition to the TNBA Harley Quinn previewed earlier this week, there also seem to be prototypes for TNBA Killer Croc, Baby Doll, and Batgirl, plus there are preview images of TAS Riddler, Penguin, Batman, as well as TNBA Robin and Creeper.

Otherwise... I'm not sure. I'm almost positive the N52 Ivy is new, but the other Capullos we already knew about and the Arkham Knights are the same as well.

Edit: I should note that I saw Mattel's layout as well... and I didn't bother to link it. There's nothing new, and without DCUC Mattel has nothing I care about.

Yup Ivy is new. Eventhough I don't like her new 52 outfit, that figure looks pretty sweet, might get it. There were some figures on display that weren't allowed to be photographed : trenchcoat Joker, new Harley, new 52 John Stewart, Jae Lee Batman and Superman etc. Hopefully they will reveal them on thursday's press conference.

Hot Toys had these bad boys on display:

The whole set is amazing and that Batman and Catwoman are by far the best looking 6 inch movie figures. Unfortunately since they are only sold as the whole set, the whole thing costs 800$-900$.

Oh and this bad boy at 1/6 scale
(http://mwctoys.com/sdcc2014/images/sdcc2014_sideshow_145.jpg)

Looks flippin' amazing. IMO hot toys has the best looking high end collectibles on the market. They are a bit much for my wallet but still cool nonetheless.

Many more cool pics and collectibles here:

Seems I spoke a biiiit too soon on the Mattel stuff... at the time, all they had displayed was the Super Powers stuff, which I'm not really interested in. They've got a LOT more up now, including a bunch of the Total Heroes figures (yaaaawwwwnn), a ton of Multiverse Arkham figures (which I have little interest in, but I'll be fair to Mattel here... there are 15 brand Arkham new figures at SDCC, and that's not including the three Batman repaints and the kinda cool "Detective Mode" variants of Bane, Mr. Freeze, and the Thugs. If you want to get some Arkham love without paying 30+ a figure, they don't look bad at all), and a brand new Yvonne Craig Batgirl figure.

Here (http://news.toyark.com/2014/07/23/mattels-dc-comics-display-sdcc-2014-129858) and here (http://toynewsi.com//news.php?itemid=22984) for Mattel links (there's a character from Arkham Knight in there that just got announced, so be warned on that)

On the Tamashii Nations side, they've announced a Sasuke to go with the Naruto they revealed last year (which I'd have been all over like, 4 years ago. Having a proper Sakura might still break me, but I'm kind of over Naruto otherwise), They've got a Luigi to go with Mario, and the Dragon Ball Z display includes Android 16 and SSJ Vegito who I don't recall seeing before (though, unfortunately, there's also no sign of Nappa. Damnit, I need that figure, because Nappa is hilarious). There might also be a few new Sailor Moon figures in there, but I really have no frame of reference on that one.

link here (http://toynewsi.com//news.php?itemid=22988) for Tamashii Nations

Square has a few "Kai" remakes of their FFVII Advent Children figures, but otherwise Play Arts continues to waste its time with a bunch of Video Game and comic properties I do not care about (No, but seriously. This is a toy company owned by Square Enix, and yet I STILL don't have proper Donald, Goofy, KH2 Riku or Kairi figures. WTF?)

Mattel AC Clayface looks more game accurate than the DCC one. If DCC one had that design I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on July 24, 2014, 02:16:18 PM
Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm not too perterbed by the DCC one (I plan to get it regardless) and I understand DCC's reasoning for it... to them, they didn't want to create a figure that was just a lump of clay, so they added icicles as a nod to how you beat the boss in the game. Mattel, by contrast, is perfectly happy to have people shell out $20-30 for a lump of plastic, so.

Speaking of Hasbro and Marvel they had this Spidey on the display

How much do these figures usually cost?
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: bat1987 on July 28, 2014, 12:24:52 AM
Hasbro Marvel Legends are around 20$ I think. I order my stuff online so not sure how much the price would differ in store (guess it depends on the store and the figure).
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Podmark on July 28, 2014, 12:54:21 AM
There's an idea, if any of you have good online stores you use to buy stuff maybe post it.
I probably buy a figure once or twice a year (most recent was a ML Archangel). Most purchases are in store, but I have ordered a couple things from Toys R Us.

I really want the ML Agent Venom. If I ever see that in a store it will be mine.

I use http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/default.aspx because they do international shipping and got lots of recommendations.

Never had any problems with them, heard their customer support is really good too (had no need to use it myself). It takes 8 work days for my order to ship (to Serbia), so it should be faster for you guys.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on July 28, 2014, 02:42:04 AM
Yeah, BBTS is kind of the go to for getting stuff in, particularly when it comes to newer figures or pre-orders (I go through them for all my DCC figs right now). Amazon and ebay are decent for getting older stuff secondhand (always check both, because ebay is not always the cheapest place to go.)

One I definitely do NOT reccommend is Toywiz. I have had all kinds of issues with them in the past, including not getting pre-orders in, not being informed of changes to my order, and half a dozem other customer service snafus that caused me to refuse to use them entirely.

The sculpts look dead on, that's for sure. I'd recognize it's based on Jae Lee even without looking at the video title. Articulation seems poor but on the other hand those look like prototypes so they might add more before release.

Not planning on getting any of those either way.

From NYCC

http://www.figures.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=17982

Capullo Freeze looks great but those TAS figures look incredible. The amount of accessories and how good the sculpts look is beyond awesome. The fact that you get 2 capes with Batman is amazing. My only problem with these is that there is no way I can afford to start a new collection, and I love both TAS and TNBA designs (they are doing 2 figures per character one for each show).

Heh, bat, if you think you've got it bad, think about how I feel now. I spent over a year trying to get the holes filled in with my Mattel/Kenner TAS Batman figures, only for them to put out this brand new super line and make them all obsolete. Frustrates me to no end.

Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on October 18, 2014, 05:43:20 PM
I'm on the fence about this one... On the one hand, it's one I've been waiting for since Red Hood was announced(Even made number 8 on my "most wanted Arkham figures (http://tomatoisjp.tumblr.com/post/97489037224/top-10-most-wanted-arkham-figures)"), but on the other, I don't know if I want to get this red hood, or the Arkham Origins Joker Red Hood. I'll probably end up going with this one, as it's more "definitive" but we'll see.

As for the DCC animated line... I will likely end up getting one or two of them, but it'll be in an effort to get shrinks of them to use alongside the kenner/mattel figures *looks up at his awful Man-Bat figure*

http://news.toyark.com/2014/11/07/first-look-dc-collectibles-new-52-roller-harley-joker-john-stewart-144091

Some of the stuff that was known to be in production but wasn't seen until now. Love, love that Harley, was gonna get the suicide squad version but the moment I heard this was coming out I gave up on that.
Also, that Joker looks great (he is based on his appearance in new 52 Detective comics#1). Seems a lot like Arkham Origins meets Killing Joke. Unless they announce Capullo Joker (hopefully with non Leatherface head), def getting this one.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on November 30, 2014, 04:26:03 PM
Yeah, that Joker is pretty cool looking. I'd have wanted a bit more purple, but it's great for what it is.

So reviews for the DCC BTAS figures are starting to come out and... I've gotta admit, my will is weakening. I'm already planning on getting Man-Bat (I can get away with him being a bit out of scale) so it's entirely possible that'll break me. Thankfully, even if I did decide to make the switch over to DCC's line, I wouldn't be getting all of them... I'm fairly picky on which versions I'd want to get (and there's no indication we're even going to get the JLU versions of Batman and Joker, since those would instantly break me) so I might end up just dipping my toe in during the early waves.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: bat1987 on November 30, 2014, 06:11:26 PM
Ya they really went all out on those. Sculpts and the amount of accessories makes them really tempting. It's an investment for sure to fully get into the line even if you only go for one style. I think its a really great fan service that they're doing both versions, although some character designs changed so little that I can hardly see them doing both (2 face, Harley, Clayface etc...).

Tempted to get TAS Batman and Robin, maybe TAS Joker and Harley, will wait and see.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on November 30, 2014, 06:45:50 PM
Well, I just started an entire thread on who I'm thinking about getting, so... lol. I did finally cave and pre-ordered Two Face (even if I don't get the others, Two Face is my favorite villain, so more of him doesn't hurt me any) just to see what he looks like in hand and on the shelf.

And really, I think that's what's been breaking me with the reviews... The reason for my initial hesitancy was that they were supposedly in 6" scale (IE: as big as DCUC figures) but now that we're finally seeing the figures lined up next to other lines, the figures are actually a bit smaller than I thought they'd be... for example, BTAS Catwoman is actually slightly smaller than Movie Masters Catwoman. They're still not in scale with the Kenner/Mattel line (JLU Batman comes up to TNBA Batman's shoulder) but they might be small enough that they can still sit comfortably between the 6.5" DCUC line and the 4" DC Multiverse/Movie line.

Only getting Freeze from this wave. Don't have one on the display and this will do just fine. He's also highly articulated, always a plus. Catwoman is....eh. If she had better sculpt and/or articulation, maybe. As it is I'm sticking to Jim Lee Catwoman from a while back.
Thrasher suit looks great and has appeared several times in the comics but same as zero year batman I don't need another batman at the moment. Would make a cool display piece for Batcave that's for sure. I can see people army building those Red Hoods along with the standard Red hood 1
Spoiler
pre Joker
head. Just something I'm not interested in, but it looks good.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on December 04, 2014, 05:04:07 PM
Yeah, this one felt a bit weak to me when we first started getting solicitations... You could argue Catwoman was intended as their big draw, but compared to both the Jim Lee and H&V figures (the latter of which looks better, but has waaaay too much cleavage to be taken seriously) it's rather weak. Freeze is the only really cool figure of the bunch (Thrasher Batman might as well be "variant Batman #12,486" and Red Hood is necessity for the Year Zero fans, but a boring figure)

BTAS series 4

http://news.toyark.com/2014/12/12/next-wave-dc-collectibles-animated-figures-revealed-146058

They look amazing. Bit of a story time. When i was a kid in the nineties (was 5 when TAS started airing), I always wanted a standard TAS Bats no neon colors, silly action features or anything of the sort. Stores here were packed with TAS stuff, could always find standard version of villains but never could find normal Batman and/or Robin. That Batman looks amazing and def plan on getting him. The real trick will be stopping at Batman and Robin since this entire line looks fantastic.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on December 12, 2014, 11:25:21 PM
See, this is why I said I'd wait to see what the TAS Batman looked like before I decided to switch. While I might customize it to use the non-batsignal logo (I have DCUC as my Batsignal batman) that version looks so much nicer than his TNBA counterpart.

As for the others... Batgirl and Riddler are easy to justify (I already noted my preferences for the style used) but Penguin... I dunno. I'm warming to it, but I've always preferred the more classy, underhanded villain to the more monstrous, Danny Devito type version.

Eh, dunno. She's a really odd choice for a deluxe figure, since she's pretty obscure and as a deluxe costs more than the average figure. The figure does look great, just not a fan of the character I guess.

Also in celebration of DCC's facebook page just hitting 250k likes they are gonna be revealing new products the entire next week. Looking forward to seeing what they got.

Well, to be fair, having Roxy Rocket without a rocket would be counter intuitive. That's like having Two Face without a coin flipping hand.

... Wait...

Post by: bat1987 on January 16, 2015, 06:35:58 PM
Ya I actually wrote that they didn't have much of a choice with the rocket thing but apparently edited it out by mistake. It was either make her with rocket or not at all I guess. Also it just shows again how committed they are to this line, to include an obscure character like this early on.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on January 16, 2015, 07:20:24 PM
I would agree, but I think that's their greatest selling point with this line. The Batman toy line, particularly during the TNBA era, pretty much got hosed in terms of figures... DC was making the transition from Kenner over to Hasbro at the time, so there's this weird period where you had a few early Kenner figures which were ok at best, and then a few Hasbro figures that came later on. Heck, big names like Harley Quinn, Bane, Killer Croc, Clayface, and Poison Ivy didn't even get figures while TNBA was still airing (Hasbro eventually made Bane and Harley for the JLU line, but the rest are sadly missing). There are whole communities of collectors and customizers  (http://cjforum.customjustice.com/index.php)trying to fill in those gaps, and THOSE are the people they're targeting with this line. Those customizers could not care less about the same old characters rehashed over and over (and are much more critical (http://www.afhub.com/hey-dc-collectibes-i-fixed-your-toys-for-you/) of those figures as a result) but are excited as heck for characters like Baby Doll, and now Roxy Rocket.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on January 19, 2015, 05:01:50 PM
So Roxy will end up costing ~$40... a bit pricy, but I was hearing speculation going 50+, and compared to other deluxe figures (like Arkham City Clayface and his $90 price tag) it's not horrible.

Also, the DCC facebook page added its first item and... it's a GCPD Badge based on TV's Gotham. Y'know, the show where all the cops except for Gordon are corrupt and working for the mob? Yeah, I'd love to associate myself with corrupt scumbags DCC, thanks!

(Yeah I know, but I was super bummed not to see a figure of some kind. I sometimes forget that DCC makes a good chunk of its money on replicas and statues)

Maybe there's more? They did say the reveals are happening from 19-23 and the badge was revealed on 17th. Here's hopin'.

edit: And here we go

The sculpt is good, but needs more paint details, head in particular.

Plus, there's a poll for next figure to be revealed

Not sure if Carrie and Bruce from DKR are from "legends of the Dark Knight" episode or DKR animated movie.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on January 20, 2015, 03:06:59 AM
Yeah, that's clearly a very early prototype. I kind of saw Scarecrow coming (Wave 5 is a TNBA heavy wave, and there are only so many solid TNBA designs left). Assuming Roxy doesn't count as part of the wave, I'm gonna say the others will be Nightwing and maybe Clayface, plus a BTAS figure... Not as positive on which because there are far more to run through.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Podmark on January 20, 2015, 04:53:25 AM
I'd like to see a Nightwing figure.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on January 20, 2015, 07:42:31 PM
They've done everyone else in the Bat-family, so doing a Nightwing figure is sort of inevitable. That said, I think I should have swapped out Mad Hatter for Clayface... it's a cheaper figure, and one of the few remaining characters that's more suited to TNBA than TAS.

A tease from DCC for new york toy fair:

TAS Batmobile? If so that is awesome!
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on January 24, 2015, 07:07:14 PM
hmmm... not sure if I want that or not. Honestly, I'd be happier to finally get the Arkham Knight Batmobile, but we'll see how much this costs.

In other news, DCC is making some fairly radical changes with the rest of the Animated figures in the line, and have pushed back release dates for the remaining waves until March or later. Poison Ivy in particular is being pushed back to the later half of wave 3b all the way out in June. I honestly can't say I'm upset about that... The main reason is that they're replacing the plastic used in the smaller joints, and that should alleviate much of the problem people have been having with breakages. Plus, gives me some time to save up a bit... these figures are not so cheap that I was relishing the idea of getting 5 of them in the next couple months. Wave 3b is the one that'll really hurt though, what with Ivy, TNBA Robin, and Harley all in the same wave.

Still debating on BTAS Joker... of the two styles, he's the one I'd want... but... meh. In my mind, the best design was his RotJ/JLU appearance, and I'd really prefer that to either one. I'll see what my budget it like come March.

Tons of new DCC stuff, including the previously revealed Batmobile:

http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2015/02/dc-collectibles-unveils-btas-batmobile-dc-icons-action-figures/

http://www.mtv.com/news/2076881/batman-animated-series-batmobile-dc-collectibles/

Icons series is a good idea, and Reis is a good inspiration choice. Personally have no interest in any of the revealed ones, but I'm sure lots of folks are gonna be happy. I like the fact they are combining "pre new 52" and "new52" designs, there is something for everyone. Never thought I'd see cosmic treadmill as an accessory, or Felicity in action figure form.

I must get that Batmobile!
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on February 14, 2015, 01:54:11 AM
Hrm.

Not really in love with wave 5, if I'm to be honest. I think Bane is the only one I really want out of the bunch. Phantasm is decent, but I have no attachment to the character and I don't care that much for the modified Batman head sculpt, so the two pack's an easy pass. Mad Hatter, while not a bad sculpt, is a version of the character I've never cared for. Scarecrow I've discussed already (I like it, but I'd have taken the BTAS version as well). And Nightwing... that thing might well be the most disappointing figure out of the entire line for me.

No, seriously, that thing is bad. The neck is too long, the head is too big, the proportions on the body are ridiculous even by TNBA standards (look at those feet! They're thinner than his eyes!)... and why did they raise the logo on the chest? It's NEVER been raised in any of the artwork from the show.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: JeyNyce on February 14, 2015, 04:46:08 PM
I never really knew how much Tomato was into figures until just now.  WOW!
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on February 14, 2015, 09:20:57 PM
... I don't know how to respond to that, really. Like... I've NEVER made any secret of the fact that I am crazy into action figures. I'd say I probably spend more time on them than I EVER have reading comics (which frustrates my dad, which always floors me because he's the one who always spent $100+ every couple weeks on comics).

Admittedly though, I'm more critical with this line than I would be of some other lines out there. I set aside 2-3 years worth of work collecting every single character in the mattel/kenner animated series style (even customizing a few) to start collecting this line because of how much better the figures have been overall... so I see a character I was REALLY looking forward to looking just awful (and really, I didn't go into half the problems that figure has based on that image. I'm REALLY hoping that's not it), and it's a little frustrating.

Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on February 15, 2015, 02:49:57 AM
So, Toy Fair is happening. Obviously there's a lot happening that I haven't seen, but what I have has me more or less excited, even though I don't plan on getting most of it. The Riddler and Penguin figures look even better in person than in the solicit images (there's even an in-person shot at Nightwing, who is... better. Not good perhaps, but better) so that's cool. The Amazon exclusive Avengers 2: AoU wave is neat in that it more or less rounds out the Avengers (no Quicksilver, Vision, or Scarlet Witch tho) but I'm not really partial enough to the new designs to buy any of them. Hawkeye in particular puzzles me... it's clearly a new figure, but they did the coat-less version of the outfit, which is basically the same figure they did a few years ago.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: bat1987 on February 16, 2015, 10:03:06 PM
So the Icons line is apparently 6-inch scale, there goes my interest in it. Wouldn't fit with any Bat stuff I have right now. I did watch the TNI interview with DCC (lots of cool stuff about animated line as well) and they clearly hinted at more Capullo figures so yay

Batmobile with light up features sounds like a really cool display piece I must say. Even if I dot get into animated line fully (financial reasons), only having TAS Batman and Robin in the batmobile (they fit inside) would be great.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: JeyNyce on February 17, 2015, 12:43:38 AM
Tomato, when I said that, I meant it with all good intention and with all respect.  You are the man when it comes to action figures.

The only reason I want the Batmobile is to get a figure for it.  It would go nice with the 66 Batmobile and Batman figure I have already.
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: Tomato on February 17, 2015, 01:55:06 AM
I didn't really take it disrespectfully, I was just confused... It would be like me having a conversation with Benton and suddenly going "wow, I just realized how much you like Aquaman."

Anyway, I still don't know how I feel about the batmobile yet. I have a TNBA batmobile already, but I think I wanna get this one anyway just to increase the chances of an Arkham series Batmobile.

Amazing! Love the Chameleon with alternate heads, I can definitely see people buying multiples. We prolly wouldn't have seen JJJ or Hammerhead otherwise. Rhino (too bad he's a BAF here) and Kraven look great as well.

DCC's Arkham Shiva looks great as well.

So the solicitations for September came in from DCC, apparently that Bruce Wayne figure from the Arkham series is part of a five pack (I should have guessed from the toy fair display). I was thinking of getting him too, but even canceling my arkham knight preorder that's still a bit steep.

Meh... Something about this rubs me the wrong way. Not the idea of an action figure line specifically for girls (that's actually kinda awesome) but more the idea that, in order for it to work, they have to make all these heroes and villains teenagers with cutesy stories and such. You would never do that with a male superhero line targeted to boys, so why isn't just having freaking wonder woman enough.

First figures from BvS
http://news.toyark.com/2015/07/01/first-batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-toys-revealed-163322

6 inch figures look pretty bad. Superman is passable I guess, but that Batman looks horrible. Wish dcc or neca had license in this scale. Never thought I'd say this, but that WW barbie is the best looking of the bunch.

Post by: Tomato on July 04, 2015, 09:37:33 PM
Yeah... I'm counting on them being prototypes, or at least getting a better batman later on. Tbh, it could just be the photos too, I've seen that happen too. That said, if Batman's face is that lopsided in all the figures, I'm sticking with the Nolan fig.

That said, at least we're getting figures in this scale still. Could be worse.

Yeah, the bat head sculpt is bad all the way around. I REALLY hope that's just a sloppy prototype. We'll know more after SDCC, I guess.

As for the car... I wouldn't put too much stock in that ridiculousness. Mattel is notorious for doing random cars that have nothing to do with the movies they're made for, and I'd say it's roughly analogous with the gimmicky Batman toys that show up with every Batman line ever.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy to be getting Flash, Arrow, and the BvS figures... but really, no Arkham figures? The final game JUST came out. At least give me a proper AA/AC Joker figure. I'll use the Arkham Origins version, but I'd rather have a proper one, y'know?
Title: Re: Coming Soon
Post by: bat1987 on July 12, 2015, 08:19:41 PM
Ya was watching their 3.75 display and it seemed to be pretty light on new stuff. You'd think the Joker would be a no brainer. I'm personally happy that unlike toy fair I'm actually getting something that was on display here. Def grabbing AK Professor Pyg and Endgame Joker.

But on the other hand I'm disappointed that they are shoving JL members into the Capullo line. While they did say on their panel "there's obviously tons more characters left to do in this line" I wish they put Bat family and villains first and the leaguers at the end. Why not give WW a Cliff Chiang line or Francis Manapul for The Flash, they'd sell like toilet paper.

I went ahead and ordered Batman, Superman, and WW online (I haven't seen any in my area anyway), skipping over armored Batman for reasons too numerous to get into here. I'd reconsider doing so if there was an interesting CnC piece, but sadly it's just a life size Grapnel Gun. I mean... wow, really Mattel? At least when you didn't give me a figure in the TDKR line you gave me an awesome Batsignal prop. Seriously, in a film with DOOMSDAY we're getting a stupid looking gun?

Speaking of the head scratching CnC though, the reason I'm posting here about it is that apparently it's meant to be spread across 8 figures. This is interesting because, unlike the ML line, which mixes comic and movie figures, the comic figures have their own separate CnC. In short, there are 4 more good quality BvS figures coming, and Mattel has been unusually quiet about who they are.

Now, invariably, one of them is Aquaman. They have a cheaper version of him out already (I linked to it in a BvS post already (http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=56500.msg793144#msg793144)) and he's the only other leaguer to get a poster. I can also see another one being Zod... Superman is mostly a reuse from MoS, and Zod would help pad out the line and would be kiiiiiiiiinda appropriate given that he is in flashbacks and what have you.

As for the other two? I'm actually not sure. Yes, you could have 2 side characters... Alfred, Luthor, or Lois, for example. But it'd be extremely bizarre for a toy line to have wave one contain all the biggest draws for the film (Toy companies typically like to drag their big sellers across multiple waves), and then wave 2 be leftovers. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not going to snub my nose at a Lois Lane figure, but I'm expecting wave 2 to have something a bit bigger. I feel Doomsday might be a bit too big to not be a CnC, but something like Luthor in a power armor like Batman's, or one of the other Leaguers (Cyborg, Flash, etc) that we haven't seen yet would explain why we haven't seen any of the second wave yet. The whole thing makes me wonder if the latest BvS trailer didn't reveal quite as much as we might have thought.

Could have sworn I've seen pictures of wave 2's lex luthor and nightmare batman (the one in desert gear), will look up later, i think it was from nycc.

You did (http://news.toyark.com/2015/10/08/batman-vs-superman-dawn-of-justice-and-dc-multiverse-at-nycc-2015-177795). It's weird, because I went to google "NYCC DC Multiverse" and that page came up in my recent history, so I definitely had that page open at one point when I was looking for information the other day. I just completely missed the movie figures among all the comic based ones.

So Wave 2 definitely has Lex and "Knightmare" Batman (UGH that pun), that still leaves the two slots open. I'm still pretty sure one's gonna be Aquaman (They made a freaking plushie) which means maaaaybe Zod as the final figure? I'm less certain of that one now, what with both the revealed figures having a good amount of reused parts (Lex in particular is about 75% reuse, and Batman uses the same head and torso) so the need for a re-released Zod isn't as prevalent now as it was. It's still a possibility, but I just don't feel like the wave will sell unless they have something with some more sellability factor.

Edit: Here's something weird for ya'll... when I was examining Lex earlier to match up what parts come from where, and I noticed a discrepancy with the legs... specifically, that the lower leg folds don't match up with those of the actual figures released on the same leg buck, but are in fact reversed (http://www.itsalltrue.net/reviews/dcimages/2012/liam01.JPG) (You can tell by how the right leg is scrunchy on Lex, but on Ra's it's his left leg). I was ready to just write it off as "lol, they goofed up assembly of the comic con figure" but then I dug a little deeper and I noticed that other comic con previews, as well as promotional images for the same figures (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71g901gjQOL._SY355_.jpg) also had the lower legs reversed like Lex's are. It's making me wonder if that's how they were always supposed to be assembled, and somewhere along the assembly line hasbro messed up and Mattel just never bothered to fix it.

To the surprise of no one ever, Aquaman is going to be in wave 2 of the Batman VS Superman figures. Granted, I more or less expected this (he's been in the more kid-friendly line as well) but it's nice to get confirmation.

I have mixed feelings about this.  Some of them look good, but some just seems a little off.  I do like the Bat-Wing, but they should have made the Batmobile from Batman Beyond.

I feel... like we needed a JLU Batman and Joker in there somewhere. I want my JLU Joker dangit!

That having been said... nothing here screams "Buy me" but I'm not ruling them out either. The Girls Night Out pack is a decent way for me to get Ivy/Batgirl/Harley in one go (I'm holding out buying a lot of the dcc figures because of my still upcoming move) in one swoop, depending on how expensive the individual figures are later on. That said, I will probably snag Talia as well, plus maybe one or two others... I REALLY want Bullock too, despite how pointless he'd be to my collection.

Looks like Harley is getting her own line in Oct.  It's base on the comic series.  I'm interested

Yeah, for anyone here who's not aware, we're probably going to be getting an onslaught of toy news over the next week or so... Toy Fair 2016 is the 13-16, so we're starting to see toy companies put out promotional images prior to the convention. Jey's posted some of the highlights, but DCC also posted pics of the upcoming "Icon" waves (http://news.toyark.com/2016/02/11/dc-collectibles-dc-icons-wonder-woman-swamp-thing-darkseid-191850), as well as a ton of figures based on the DCEU (http://news.toyark.com/2016/02/11/dc-collectibles-announces-dc-movie-bases-action-figures-191839). I wasn't really impressed with the movie based figures (it makes me vomit a bit to say this, but I liked Mattel's figures better) but the Icons figures looked spiffy. I'm personally looking forward to the Cyborg (I'd like to customize my early n52 Cyborg into Grid once I get the sleeker version) but some of the others look nice as well.

That said, I'm mainly looking forward to finding out who the last DC Multiverse BvS figure is, see what Civil War figures are coming (wave 1 of the Legends line was a total disappointment) and generally what's coming down the pipeline.

Oh, hey, some new stuff was in there. Happy to see S4 Arrow in there (I was wondering about that one) though I'm not sold on it being in a 2 pack with unmasked Barry. Still no Supergirl though... *sigh*

Oh wow, they made a Capullo wave where i skip everything. Dont want Gorbat but i admit he has his place in the line. 3 jlers though.....my predictions came through. Gl wasnt even in the darn story, just the cover.
That batgirl on a bike from icons is one of the best looking figures in a while. Would make a killer display piece.
The movie figures look great. Except Superman, wth went wrong there...

The Madness begins!

So right now I've only really seen Lego and DCC come out on the superhero front (I'm still combing through stuff) but a few highlights for me are:

Lego Scarlet Spider (Scarlet Spider anything makes me happy. Never understood why, but I love that design)
Justice League Icons 7 pack (it's the n52 league, but the figures are far superior to the n52 figures I have, so I might still pick it up)
DCC Arkham Series Batgirl/Oracle 2 pack (Really!?! this AFTER I sold my collection!?! GRAH!)
A better look at the Arrow/Flash 2 pack (which comes with swappable heads so I'm considering it more now)
Lego Killer Croc, Red Hood, Killer Moth(!), and Deadshot
TMNT Karai figure (Not big on TMNT stuff, but the lack of this character from the nick show bugged the hell out of me. You'll make a toy for a villain in one episode, but neglect a major recurring character?)

Still waiting on the Hasbro and Mattel offerings (Though Hasbro already disappointed me with the first Civil War Legends wave) which will hopefully go up soon.

The Marvel Legends one is already out. See reviews here (http://www.shesfantastic.com/2016/01/marvel-legends-spider-gwen.html) and here (http://www.itsalltrue.net/?p=32418).

Edit: So we're still waiting for pictures, but there's more hope for me on the ML Civil War front. Wave 1 will be more or less a bust (Black Panther is the only character I want) but Wave 2 apparently has Scarlet Witch.

Edit again: Falcon and Winter Soldier Wal Mart exclusives...

http://news.toyark.com/2016/02/14/toy-fair-2016-mattel-dc-comics-figures-195137 -F@#$ YES MATTEL! SUPERGIRL!!!

No, seriously, this is amazing. Even DCC, for all the absurd amounts of Arrowverse junk, couldn't be bothered to put her out yet. I am sliiiightly disappointed that Harley isn't getting a first wave figure (more because it's a snub on the character then ANY desire to own that design), but that might be a good thing since I highly doubt we would be getting Killer Croc and Katana ahead of her if that were all we were getting.

Overall... I'm happy with what's here. There are a few easy snubs, but most of my issues are easy fixes (AQUAMAN'S PANTS ARE GREEN GOSH DARNIT!) with a bit of paint and spare parts. I'm a biiiit disappointed that it looks like I'm going back to 6" scale for good, but... eh. That's a decision for post move.

TAS Harvey Bullock with half eaten donut accessory? Pure gold. And wow they really nailed Grant Gustin's likeness with that 2 pack figure.
While Gorbat doesn't fit in the armored suit, once you remove the helmet you can actually see him inside of it. I think it's a nice compromise, and the pack seems like a good value for 50$.
Also nice to see Marvel Legends Miles with a proper body build.

Also, all the galleries in one place

At work so no links, but Hasbro officially unveiled Jessica Jones and Punisher figures from the MCU/Netflix series. And the collector in me is conflicted.

On the one hand, I've gotten a version of every mcu character that's gotten a figure, excluding Spider Man because I'll wait for his solo film. And I do want several Netflix heroes... Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist... and even though I'm a sucker for superhero costumes, I'll take a plain clothes Jessica Jones.

But Punisher... mehhhhhhhhhhh. On the one hand, I did like the Netflix version of the character more than I usually do... but on the other, I have such a visceral hatred of everything the character stands for. And at $20+ a pop, I dunno if I can justify getting a punisher, even one from the mcu.

Ya I've seen them, they look great, Punisher sculpt is pretty spot on. Some pretty cool Marvel stuff this SDCC. DST's Doctor strange looks fantastic
(http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2016/07/SDCC-2016-DST-Marvel-Select-004.jpg)

Really liking the DC Icons Rebirth Batman as well
http://news.toyark.com/2016/07/20/sdcc-2016-dc-collectibles-dc-icons-211370

Really has me considering getting into the icons line, that Batgirl of burnside figure with bike looks fantastic, and that upcoming Damian Wayne figure that was on display but couldn't be photographed, all sound great. Would still keep my 7 inch collection, but might have to make additional shelf for these guys.

NYCC has officially begun!

So at the moment stuff is still circulating around various websites, but on my end some figures of note are: Figuarts Yamcha and Tien, and the Marvel Legends Shocker and Sandman BAF. (http://marveltoynews.com/nycc-2016-marvel-legends-2017-shocker-sandman/)

I'm still not sure how I feel about Sandman... Definitely be displaying him with the normal head, but I'm sorely tempted to also get the SDCC sand form version for more normal arms. This wave in general is hit or miss for me... on the one hand, Green Goblin is fantastic and serves my needs perfectly. On the other, I have no use for half the figures... I hate the Jackal despite his getting a decent figure, I prefer 2099 Spidey's original duds, and while I like Spider-UK, I would have preferred a Spider-India. There's also a lot of maybes in there... I'm usually a "Yes" or "No" type of person (I have lists that I keep to to avoid going overboard) but I kind of want Black-suit Spider-Man just to have for photos, I kind of want Ms Marvel because I want to encourage her appearance in other forms of media, and I might cave on Spider-UK both for the BAF piece, and because I do like the character, even if I don't have any use for him.

I haven't seen much on the DC side, but honestly... DC has kind of burned their bridges with me lately, so I haven't been looking that hard either.
