Title: Moon Base Serenity
Post by: Xenolith on March 17, 2010, 12:40:57 PM
Well, I was revisiting Mister Green last night.  He is my level 40 character.  I used a free retcon to change his powers, finished up some old misssions, and recieved some new ones.  One of them was the 5-player Nemesis mission on Moon Base Serenity.  This may be a good Freedom Reborn! event.

So, is anyone willing to team up with Mister Green this week or weekend to tackle this mission?  I redesigned Professor Plum just for this event.  :)

I might be up for it, though I should note that while my main is awesome at shooting from afar, he's pretty much pants at anything else...

That's A-Okay because Mister Green is a tank.  He doesn't generate much threat, but if he rushes in first it would allow shooty guys to charge up their big attacks.

So, two more folks, perhaps.

Well, we haven't managed to tackle the mission yet, so maybe if you play every night for the next week or two...  :)

I may be up for it, depending on when we do it.

However, I've never done it before. How does it pick which Nemesis to use if you have several? Uses your first, your current, or its random?

I did it dozens of times to get costume pieces, lots of stuff to unlock in nemcon. It uses your current nemesis, if u don`t have an active one it will give u a random supervillain instead.

I ran through MBS with bat (thanks bat), and I have to say that it was one of my least favorite missions.  Most of the missions in CO are quick and fun, with some exceptions like the Burial Caves, T's Tower, Destroyer's Factory.  But even those are somewhat fun, although I really dislike the Burial Caves.  MBS was just a big, long fight with no storyline to speak of, other than some text at the beginning.  It wasn't even that fun, to be honest.

Mister Green is a melee specialist and I have a very hard time seeing when an enemy is winding up for a big attack when all I can see is their kneecap.  The Shadow Destroyer, the final villain for this mission, is about twice the size of the largest character.  Most of the generic villains in the mission are about three times the size of a normal sized character, so it was very hard to tell if I should be punching or blocking.  I wish they would have some type of signal on our HUD when somebody is prepping for a big attack.

It was good having you on the team   There is an actual reason why all the villains are at the moon base. After you imprison your nemesis for good, Destroyer will come to their cell and recruit them for the nemcon. Strange thing is you will fight the nemesis you created after that scene, not the one you imprisoned and that was approached by Destroyer (unless you choose to reactivate that nemesis). So you have to have an active nemesis in order to fight him in nemcon, otherwise it will give you a random supervillain.

I personally like the lair, but the final fight can be tiring, if u don`t take out his healing orbs fast.
